Thank you for joining us!

Below is our "getting started" guide. We have put it together to explain step-by-step how to list your site and begin receiving traffic. You may print this page and keep it handy while completing the listing process. Ok, ready to go? Let's get started ...

Think about your business!
To begin you should ask yourself, who are my potential customers and what keywords or phrases are they likely to search when looking for a business like mine?

Developing a good list of keywords and phrases is essential to targeting the consumers that are looking for your exact products and services.

Let's take for example, a New York bicycle shop called "Mike's Bikes". The target customer for this business is someone who is interested in purchasing a bicycle, or bike parts - perhaps in the New York area. The first thing to consider is the keywords and phrases that someone is likely to search, when looking for products and services relating to a Bike Shop. Here's a sample list of keywords that may be a good start for Mike's Bikes:

bicycles
bikes
bike parts
Mountain Bikes
10 speeds
CCM (a popular bicycle brand name)

These are all keyword/phrases someone is likely to use when searching for a bicycle or bike parts. As a result, Mike should consider listing his site with each of them. Please Note: Singular and plural searches are considered separate, so if you were adding your site under "bike" you should also add your site under "bikes".

Take a moment to write a brief list of keywords and phrases that describe your business and the products and services you offer. This list will become your base to create a variety of keyword/phrase combinations for listing your site.

Step 2: Create an Account and Login:
If you haven't already, please visit http://www.atomicbot.com/signup.html to create your member account. Creating an account is easy and only takes a minute. Just complete the sign-up form and your password will be promptly emailed to you.

When you've created an account, you're ready to login and begin listing your site. To login go to http://www.atomicbot.com. Enter your username and password in the "Members Area" section and click the "Enter" button.

Important note: Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive. If you have forgotten your password you can click on "Forgot Password" and have it emailed to you.

Once inside the members area you will see the various links for managing your listings and viewing your statistics. The first thing you need to do is activate your account by bringing your balance above zero.

Step 3: Funding Your Account:
Atomicbot operates on a debit system, meaning the amount you bid is deducted from your account when someone clicks on your listing to visit your site. For this reason, members must have a positive balance to list a site and receive traffic.

To add funds to your account, click on "Add Funds" link, where you will find two transaction options:

  1. Secure processing for Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards.
  2. Secure email processing provided by PayPal.com.

Both options are easy to use and provide real-time processing. Just enter the amount you would like to add to your account and click the "Deposit" button. All deposits are added instantly to your balance and become available for immediate use.

Step 4: Add Keyword/Phrases and Adjust Bids
Now that you have activated your account, you may list your site with the keywords and phrases you created earlier. To do this, click on "Add A Listing" link. You will then see this form.

A) Keyword/Phrase: (e.g. Bike Shops)
B) Bid ($): (0.03 = 3 cents; 0.10 = 10 cents)
C) Site Title:
D) Site URL:
E) Site Description:

Bulk submissions also accepted via our Bulk Listings Form.

A) The "Keyword/Phrase" box. In this box enter one (1) of the keywords or phrases you created. This is the keyword or phrase that visitors will need to search for, in order to view your listing. For our example we'll use the keyword "bikes".

B) The "Bid ($)" box. Enter the amount you are willing to pay for this keyword. We suggest using the default which is ".03" (three cents per click) to get started.

C) The "Title" box. The Title is a 60 character label for your listing. This is the first thing a visitor will see when viewing your listing. Titles usually include a websites name and a brief slogan. For our example we'll use the title:
Mike's Bikes - Top Quality Bikes!

D) Next you need to enter your "Site URL". This is your web address. Make sure you enter your FULL web address including the "http://www." in the box too. It's a good idea to test the URL you entered to make sure it is correct. For our example, we'll use http://www.mikes-domain-name.com.

E) Next enter a "Description" for your site. This is where you can describe what you offer and entice the customer to click on your listing. The description can be up to 150 characters long. For our example, we'll use: Providing the top brand name bicycles and parts for over 10 years. Bikes make great gifts!

When you are done filling in the boxes, press the "Add Listing" button to submit this keyword listing. Repeat steps A-E for each keyword/phrase in your list.

In our example, Mike's listing would appear like this each time someone searches for the keyword "bikes"
  1. Mike's Bikes - Top Quality Bikes!
Providing the top brand name bicycles and parts for over 10 years. Bikes make great gifts!. www.mikes-domain-name.com (Cost To advertiser $0.03)

Adjust Bids:
Once you've entered your keyword/phrase listings, you should check your bids to make sure your listings have optimum positioning. It's important to decide how much you are willing to spend. The higher your bid, the higher you will be listed and typically the more traffic you should receive. BUT ... bear in mind, it's not always best to be number one and you should only bid an amount you are willing to spend to get a "potential" customer to your site.

How much should I bid?

To continue our example:

Let's say that Mike (from Mikes Bikes) receives 100 visitors to his site, and that for every 100 visitors, 5 make a purchase. Mike knows that on average he makes $10 profit on every sale. The simple math for this equation is:

5 paying customers x $10 profit per customer = $50 profit

From this, we see that even though every visitor doesn't make a purchase, on average each visitor is worth 50 cents profit for Mike's store. This makes 50 cents his break even point. If Mike pays more than 50 cents per click he will lose money and when he pays less than 50 cents per click, he makes money.

Mike decides he is willing to spend at most, half of his profit. This means that while Mike wants to be listed as high as possible, he won't bid over 25 cents because he's wants to maintain his profit margin.

Mike uses the "Search Bids" tool in our members area and sees that the Top 3 bids for the keyword "bikes" range from $0.03 to $0.05 cents. (well within his profit margin) and makes a bid of $0.06 cents. This will put his site in the #1 position until another advertiser places a bid higher than $0.06 cents on the keyword "bikes"

Please use the Search Bid tool and consider your profit margins when bidding.

If you wish to adjust your bids, use the "Edit Listings" form. This will display your listings along with your keywords, current bid, listing position and the amount required to obtain the #1 position. You can then adjust your bids individually to gain the position desired or use the "Top Bid It" button to put multiple listings in the #1 position.

A few more tips.
Generally speaking, highly specific keyword/phrases offer the best value. This is because they attract targeted traffic. In Mike's case, while the keyword phrase "New York Bike Shops" may receive less traffic than the keyword "bikes" it may actually offer more value (more sales per click and/or a lower cost per click) because Mike is targeting a less competitive keyword and attracting visitors from the geographic area where he's located.

Please Note: Atomicbot's Top 3 Listings automatically appear on our partners sites. All listings are search generated ensuring your site is exposed to visitors that search for the keyword/phrases you've selected. This delivers targeted traffic from each of these search engines.

You're all done!
That's it, once approved your listings become active and you will begin receiving traffic. Please login occasionally to review your statistics, check your positioning and adjust your bids.
